Amit Shah Criticizes Rahul Gandhis Political Aspirations Amid Controversial Rally

Amit Shah targets Rahul Gandhis ambitions, linking them to a recent rally on the anniversary of the 1984 anti-Sikh riots.

Chandigarh, November 1 (Daily Kiran) : Central Home Minister Amit Shah launched a sharp attack on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi during a recent event in Chandigarh. He stated that if Gandhi wishes to become Prime Minister, he should spend his life in a “mock parliament,” as he will never have a chance in the real one.

Shah’s comments were made in reference to a mock impeachment proceeding organized by Congress against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar just a day prior. He pointed out that Rahul Gandhi has faced electoral defeats for the past 15 years, and the dream of his mother, Sonia Gandhi, to see him as Prime Minister remains unfulfilled.

While addressing the audience, Shah advised Gandhi to abandon hopes of becoming Prime Minister, suggesting that such aspirations are only viable in a mock setting.

Additionally, Shah condemned Gandhi for organizing a rally in Delhi on November 1, the anniversary of the 1984 anti–Sikh riots, accusing him of insensitivity. He remarked, “On this day, Congress orchestrated the massacre of thousands of innocent Sikhs in Delhi, and Rahul chose to hold a rally, which is akin to rubbing salt in the wounds of the victims’ families.”

Shah criticized the Congress party for its actions on this significant date and highlighted that the current government, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has reopened cases against guilty Congress leaders, leading to their imprisonment. He noted that victim families received compensation and job opportunities as part of the government’s efforts.

Despite appeals from Sikh organizations and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to postpone the rally, Shah claimed that Gandhi sought directions from abroad to proceed with it. He also mentioned that Delhi’s business community requested the rally be held after Diwali to avoid economic disruption, but Gandhi insisted on holding it on the anniversary of the tragedy.

In a related event, Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri led a march organized by the BJP in West Delhi, aimed at promoting democracy and demonstrating solidarity with riot victims. On social media, Puri shared his memories of the 1984 riots, recalling how his parents were in Delhi at the time and how some Hindu friends sheltered them, showcasing humanity and brotherhood.

Puri emphasized that the massacre was not just a tragedy for one community but a wound on the entire nation’s history that must never be forgotten. He stressed the importance of protecting humanity, delivering justice to victims, and strengthening national unity as the greatest lessons from that painful chapter.
