Harsimrat Kaur Badal Criticizes AAP Government and Remembers 1984 Anti-Sikh Riots
Harsimrat Kaur Badal condemns AAPs governance and recalls the trauma of the 1984 anti-Sikh riots in a recent statement.

Bathinda, November 1 (Daily Kiran) : In Bathinda, on November 1, Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) MP Harsimrat Kaur Badal visited Takht Sri Damdama Sahib in Talwandi Sabo, where she criticized the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government led by Bhagwant Mann. She accused the administration of rampant corruption, deteriorating law and order, and the increasing spread of drugs in Punjab.
Badal also took aim at a Congress rally in Delhi, highlighting the 1984 anti-Sikh riots and asserting that the Congress leadership has never apologized to the Sikh community for the violence.
In an interview with a news agency, she stated, “Kejriwal and his 40 thieves have plundered Punjab. These individuals have shown that if they return to power, the state will continue to suffer from theft, corruption, and drug issues for another five years. The people must wake up; these individuals will not change. To save Punjab, citizens must unite and completely eliminate the AAP from the state.”
Reflecting on the 1984 riots, Badal expressed her pain, recalling, “It is very heartbreaking. I witnessed the massacre in Delhi with my own eyes. We were just children then, but we experienced the chaos in the city.”
She further criticized the government, the Congress party, and the Gandhi family for their brutal actions during that time. Badal recalled Rajiv Gandhi’s controversial statement, “When a big tree falls, the earth shakes,” suggesting it was used to justify the violence. She described how people were incited to hunt down Sikhs, drag them from their homes, and commit horrific acts of violence against them.
