Allegations of Assault on Employee During CBI Interrogation in Dhanbad
A CBI employee alleges he was assaulted during an interrogation in Dhanbad, raising serious concerns about treatment at investigative offices.

Dhanbad, November 1 (Daily Kiran) : A shocking incident has emerged from Dhanbad, where an employee of the Central Mining and Fuel Research Institute (CMFRI) claims he was assaulted during questioning at the CBI office. The victim, identified as Vivek Singh, reported that he was beaten for three hours by CBI officials, including Sandeep Singh and Deepak Meena, after failing to provide satisfactory answers.
The incident occurred on October 29, 2026, when Singh was summoned to the CBI office regarding an alleged emolument distribution scam involving a former director. He was instructed to arrive by 10:30 AM.
According to Singh, when the officials did not receive the answers they wanted, they resorted to violence. He alleges that he was struck with sticks and kicked repeatedly, resulting in severe injuries to his right thigh, which have left him unable to walk properly.
Medical professionals at CMFRI have advised Singh to rest for a week due to the injuries, which include deep cuts. Following the incident, Singh filed a written complaint to senior officials at CMFRI, questioning the conduct of the CBI during the interrogation.
Singh expressed his dismay, stating that such treatment of a citizen in an investigative agency’s office is deeply unfortunate in a democratic society. He is demanding appropriate action in light of the serious allegations.
As of now, the CBI has yet to release an official statement on the matter. Independent verification of the claims and responses from the involved parties will be crucial. The focus now shifts to the CBI and CMFRI management’s next steps following this alarming event.
