Akshay Kumar Launches Mumbai Clean League to Tackle City Pollution

Mumbai, March 17: The bustling metropolis of Mumbai, known for its vibrant energy, is facing a growing problem of pollution and litter. In response to this pressing issue, Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar has initiated a new campaign called the ‘Mumbai Clean League.’ In a recent interview, he shared the motivation behind this innovative project.

Kumar revealed that the concept for the league was inspired by the Indian Premier League (IPL). It combines elements of commercial sports and entertainment with civic responsibility.

He stated, “The idea struck me while watching the IPL. I then discussed with Amit Satam about creating a ‘Mumbai Clean League.’ Mumbai is home to diverse communities, all of whom desire a better quality of life. Despite the limited space, the energy of its residents is immense. This city is the economic hub of the country, and everyone wants to live happily in a clean and pollution-free environment.”

Using the example of school sports days, Kumar explained, “In schools, there are sports days, allocation days, and a monitor system where everyone competes for first, second, and third places. This league will be similar, encouraging all of Mumbai to participate and compete.”

The actor emphasized that the primary goal of this league is to make Mumbai a cleaner and healthier city. However, details regarding the league’s launch have yet to be revealed.
