Akhilesh Yadav Labels BJP a Gang, Predicts Partys Downfall in Uttar Pradesh
Akhilesh Yadav criticizes BJP as a gang and asserts its impending exit from Uttar Pradesh during a tribute event in Lucknow.

Lucknow, October 31 (Daily Kiran) : Former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav, the national president of the Samajwadi Party, launched a scathing attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) during a tribute event in Lucknow on Saturday. He characterized the BJP not as a political party but as a “gang,” accusing it of fostering negative ideologies and creating divisions within society.
Yadav expressed confidence that the people of Uttar Pradesh have resolved to remove the BJP from power. He stated, “If the BJP is ousted from Uttar Pradesh, it will also be expelled from the country.”
The remarks came as Yadav paid homage at the memorial of Acharya Narendra Dev, located along the banks of the Gomti River, on the occasion of the leader’s 137th birth anniversary. He also honored the legacies of Acharya Dev and Bharat Ratna Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel at the Samajwadi Party headquarters.
During his address, Yadav hailed Acharya Narendra Dev as a distinguished educator, freedom fighter, polyglot, and a key figure in the socialist movement. He highlighted Acharya’s belief that peaceful revolution is essential for societal progress. Born in Sitapur, Acharya Dev’s political journey was rooted in Ayodhya, where he also served as a teacher at Banaras Hindu University.
Yadav further reflected on Sardar Patel‘s contributions, noting his pivotal role in uniting the princely states of independent India. He pointed out that Patel had imposed a ban on the RSS, emphasizing that the greatest threat to the nation today comes from communal forces. He asserted that weakening these forces would strengthen democracy, and vowed that socialists would continue their struggle against the BJP and its underground elements.
The Samajwadi Party leader criticized the current government for merely offering dreams to the public. He accused the BJP of engaging in fraudulent activities, citing examples of corruption related to the Ram Temple and rising inflation impacting farmers’ livelihoods. “The party is only showing dreams of a one-trillion-dollar economy while indulging in corruption,” he remarked.
Yadav also raised concerns about the education system under the BJP government, alleging that 26,000 primary schools had been closed, with plans to convert these spaces into liquor stores. He stressed that education is vital for societal improvement, echoing Acharya Dev’s beliefs.
On healthcare, Yadav accused the BJP government of neglecting public hospitals while promoting private facilities. He noted that in the last decade, numerous private hospitals have been registered in Gorakhpur and Agra, while public healthcare continues to deteriorate.
Addressing questions about law and order, particularly regarding police conduct and rising crime rates against women, Yadav urged Central Home Minister Amit Shah to focus on these pressing issues rather than ignoring them. He questioned the alarming number of deaths in police custody and the increasing violence against women and minorities, demanding accountability and justice.
In conclusion, Yadav reiterated his call for unity among Samajwadi Party workers to challenge the BJP, emphasizing that citizens across all demographics are prepared to hold the party accountable in the upcoming elections.
