AIADMK Leader Criticizes Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Joseph Vijay, Questions His Leadership Style
AIADMKs Sellur K. Raju criticizes CM Joseph Vijay for curbing free speech and failing to govern effectively in Tamil Nadu.

Madurai, October 24 (Daily Kiran) : Sellur K. Raju, a leader of the AIADMK party, has launched a scathing critique of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Joseph Vijay. Raju’s remarks come amid growing concerns over restrictions on government employees’ freedom of expression, the handling of the Cauvery water dispute, and the state’s law and order situation, particularly following recent flooding due to heavy rains.
Raju questioned whether Chief Minister Vijay is attempting to limit free speech by preventing government employees from voicing their opinions on social media and in public gatherings. “Is the Chief Minister behaving like a dictator?” he asked, highlighting the implications of such restrictions in a democratic nation.
“This is a democratic country. However, the TVK government, which came to power through a narrow electoral victory, seems to have lost its way. Whenever democracy is under threat, they claim to be the only ones who can lead,” Raju stated. He criticized the government’s failure to deliver effective governance, despite promises of development and freedom.
He pointed out that six months have passed without any significant progress, as various societal groups, including government employees, have taken to the streets in protest. “By saying that government employees should not express their opinions, are they adding fuel to the fire? Has Chief Minister Vijay become a dictator who wants to strip people of their freedom of expression?” Raju questioned.
The AIADMK leader further remarked on the Chief Minister’s inability to address the Cauvery water issue, likening him to a film actor who seeks the limelight without delivering real results. “They came to power through roadshows and reels. The public will only accept them if they provide good governance. If they think they can run the government and the party solely through social media, the people will soon teach this government a harsh lesson,” he warned.
Raju made these statements after paying tribute to the Maruthu Pandiyar brothers on their death anniversary at their statues on Scott Road in Madurai. Following the tribute, he reaffirmed the AIADMK’s commitment to strengthening the party and advancing development initiatives in Tamil Nadu.
