Uttarakhand CM Dhami Unveils Major Development Projects in Pithoragarh

CM Pushkar Singh Dhami announces 67 development projects worth over ₹284 crore in Pithoragarh, emphasizing local growth and pride.

Pithoragarh, October 25 (Daily Kiran) : Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami participated in a significant event on Sunday at Ramleela Maidan in Pithoragarh, where he inaugurated and laid the foundation for various development projects. Addressing the gathering, he remarked, “Today marks a new and promising chapter in the development journey of Pithoragarh district. We are launching and starting 67 key development projects worth over ₹284 crores. I am confident that these initiatives will serve as milestones in making life easier, more accessible, prosperous, and convenient for every citizen of Pithoragarh.”

Dhami highlighted the increase in tourist numbers in the region since Prime Minister Modi’s visit to the Adi Kailash area and Gunji in 2023, stating, “A new transformation is evident throughout the area.” He expressed a deep personal connection to Pithoragarh, saying, “Describing Pithoragarh in words is challenging for me because this land is my birthplace and home. The soil here has taught me to struggle since childhood, instilling values that inspired me to move forward in life. Your son, your chief servant, is dedicated to the service of Pithoragarh day and night.”

The Chief Minister provided updates on ongoing projects, mentioning the construction of a medical college with an investment exceeding ₹750 crores and a sports college multipurpose hall costing over ₹34 crores. Additionally, a grand stadium is set to be built, along with a Critical Care Center at a cost of ₹21 crores, and various other infrastructure developments including a police building and a fire brigade station.

Dhami reiterated his government’s commitment to creating a state where youth can find employment opportunities without having to leave their homes. He noted that new livelihood opportunities through agriculture are being created in villages, and the “Lakhpati Didi” scheme is proving effective, with increasing demand for women’s products both nationally and internationally.

Targeting the opposition Congress party, he stated that empty slogans from the platform do not lead to progress. He emphasized that the establishment of medical colleges and air services in the region did not happen easily and that many developmental works could have progressed earlier.

The Chief Minister also highlighted his government’s proactive measures, including the introduction of the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) law and stringent actions against communal violence and illegal activities. He criticized those who perpetuate divisive politics and expressed his determination to uphold law and order, stating, “We will not spare corrupt individuals, cheating mafias, or anyone who breaks the law.”

He concluded by asserting that his government would not bow to political pressure and would remain steadfast in protecting the pride of Devbhoomi and the interests of the state.
