Kallakurichi, October 24 (Daily Kiran) : A tragic hit-and-run incident in Kallakurichi district, Tamil Nadu, resulted in the death of a 25-year-old bank employee. The accident occurred near the Pathur bus stand when an unidentified vehicle collided with her two-wheeler. The driver fled the scene without stopping.
The victim, who worked as a temporary employee at the Indian Bank in Ulundurpet, was returning to her village in Kalathur when the accident took place. Reports indicate that as she approached the bus stand, the vehicle struck her from behind, causing severe injuries that led to her death on the spot.
Local police arrived shortly after being informed and took possession of the body, which was sent to the Ulundurpet government hospital for a post-mortem examination. The incident briefly disrupted traffic on the Chennai-Tiruchirappalli National Highway.
The victim’s mother arrived at the scene upon hearing the devastating news, and her heart-wrenching cries moved those present. Authorities have launched an investigation to identify the driver and are reviewing CCTV footage from nearby cameras in hopes of tracking down the vehicle involved in the incident.
Tirunavalur police are actively working to ensure justice for the victim and her grieving family.
