AI as a Bridge to Developed India 2047: CP Radhakrishnans Vision

New Delhi, April 15: The 72nd Founder’s Day celebration of the Indian Institute of Public Administration (IIPA) took place on Wednesday, featuring Vice President CP Radhakrishnan as the chief guest. He delivered the 5th Dr. Rajendra Prasad Annual Memorial Lecture on the theme “AI for Good Governance,” highlighting the growing role of artificial intelligence in modern governance.

In his address, Vice President Radhakrishnan paid heartfelt tribute to India’s first President, Dr. Rajendra Prasad. He recalled Dr. Prasad’s simplicity, integrity, and unwavering dedication to public service, emphasizing that true governance is about serving rather than wielding power.

He also referenced Dr. Prasad’s historic visit to the Somnath Temple, illustrating his steadfast commitment to his principles.

Radhakrishnan noted that we are in a pivotal era of human history, where artificial intelligence is reshaping governance. AI is enabling governments to better understand citizens, respond swiftly, and provide more effective services. According to him, AI plays a crucial role in making governance more transparent, accountable, and inclusive.

While discussing the goal of “Developed India 2047,” he identified AI as a key facilitator. He stated that AI is making it possible to deliver government schemes to the last person in line, thereby reducing resource misuse.

He highlighted that this technology serves as a robust bridge between policy and the public, enhancing data-driven decision-making and service delivery.

Radhakrishnan urged youth and professionals to embrace new technologies and contribute to building an “AI-ready workforce.” He emphasized the ethical use of AI, insisting that technological advancements must align with fairness, accountability, and human values.

He concluded by asserting that AI is not merely a technical change but a human revolution that can make society more just and inclusive. The event was attended by several dignitaries, including Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh.
