Adata Unveils Urban Tapsafe Portable SSD with NFC Unlock and Impressive Speeds

Mumbai, April 16: Adata has introduced the Urban Tapsafe, a portable SSD that combines style, performance, and security. This marks the debut of Adata’s Urban Series, which emphasizes lightweight, minimalist designs alongside advanced functionality.

Adata Urban Tapsafe Specifications

The Urban Tapsafe utilizes a USB 3.2 Gen2 x2 interface, achieving sequential read and write speeds of up to 1900MB/s. Adata offers this device in two storage options: 1TB and 2TB, making it perfect for 4K video editing, large software development tasks, or expanding storage for gaming consoles.

This SSD features NFC-enabled security through a dedicated mobile app, enabling users to unlock the device simply by tapping their smartphone. The app supports multi-user access for up to nine users, with customizable permissions such as read-only or writable access. Additionally, it enhances data security by automatically locking when disconnected.

The Urban Tapsafe introduces a clip-on mounting system that attaches directly to camera rigs or smartphone cages, eliminating the need for extra mounting adapters. This design makes it convenient for creators to use the drive while on the move. Adata also provides swappable magnetic covers with the Urban Tapsafe, allowing users to personalize the SSD’s appearance or organize their work by project.

Compatibility is broad, with the Urban Tapsafe working seamlessly with Windows, macOS, Android, iOS, and Linux. It also supports modern gaming consoles, offering off-console storage for additional games.

With a sleek, portable design measuring 68.68 x 36.18 x 19.18 mm and weighing just 72.61g, the SSD is available in black and comes with a five-year limited warranty.

In related news, Samsung has recently launched an 8TB variant of the 870 EVO SSD with a five-year warranty, while SanDisk has unveiled three new portable SSDs offering up to 4TB of storage and speeds reaching 4,000MB/s.
