Action Star Chuck Norris Passes Away at 86, Akshay Kumar Pays Tribute

Mumbai, March 20: American martial artist and action star Chuck Norris has passed away at the age of 86. His family announced the news via a social media post. Norris was hospitalized in Hawaii after an emergency on March 19, but he sadly passed away the following day.

Many stars from the film industry expressed their condolences over his death. Actor Akshay Kumar shared his sorrow and paid tribute to Norris. He stated that watching Norris’s films was not just entertainment for him, but also a learning experience.

In a post on the social media platform X, Akshay wrote, “Growing up as a martial artist, watching Chuck Norris in ‘Way of the Dragon’, ‘Missing in Action’, and other films was more than just entertainment; it was education. His discipline, strength, and effortless control on screen have always stayed with me. I am grateful for the inspiration that shaped a part of my personality.”

Chuck Norris made his film debut in 1968 with ‘The Wrecking Crew’, where he played a bodyguard. He gained fame in 1972 alongside Bruce Lee in ‘Return of the Dragon’, also known as ‘Way of the Dragon’, which features one of the most iconic fight scenes in cinema history. Over his career, he appeared in more than 20 films, including ‘Missing in Action’ and ‘The Delta Force’.

He is best known for his television series ‘Walker, Texas Ranger’, which ran for nine seasons, portraying a protector fighting crime. Before acting, Norris was a martial artist, winning the World Professional Middleweight Karate Championship six times.

Norris was married twice. He had two sons, stuntman Mike and Eric, with his first wife, Dianne. With his second wife, Gina, he had twin children, Dakota and Danilee.
