Car Strikes Festival-Goers in Ghazipur, Injuring Six

Ghazipur, October 21 (Daily Kiran) : A serious car accident occurred in Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh, on Tuesday night, injuring six people. The incident took place around 10 to 11 PM on National Highway 31 in the Mohammadabad Kotwali area.
Witnesses reported that the victims were standing by the roadside after returning from a Dussehra festival when an out-of-control car struck them. The impact caused chaos at the scene, with bystanders gathering shortly after the collision.
Angry pedestrians managed to apprehend the driver, who was later identified as Ashish Kumar Rai, a resident of Virpur village in the Bhavarkol police jurisdiction. Local police arrived promptly to intervene as tensions escalated.
The injured individuals received initial medical care at the community health center in Mohammadabad. However, due to the severity of their injuries, doctors referred them to the district headquarters hospital for further treatment.
Police have taken the vehicle into custody and detained the driver while an investigation into the incident is ongoing. Authorities are working to determine the circumstances that led to the accident.
