Kolkata, May 6: Chhattisgarh’s Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma has made significant remarks regarding the recent election results in West Bengal and the issue of illegal immigration. He stated that the problem of infiltration has been serious for a long time and is closely linked to border security.
During a press conference, Sharma noted that Bangladeshi intruders enter India through West Bengal, affecting various regions, including Raipur. He emphasized the need for cooperation between the central and state governments to tackle this issue. “We have expelled intruders from our state, and those who remain are also being removed,” he said.
He claimed that individuals caught and sent back from various locations had entered India through the same route. Sharma also accused the West Bengal government of failing to provide land for border fencing to central agencies for years, which has compromised security measures.
Furthermore, he mentioned that the BJP’s manifesto clearly states that necessary land for border fencing will be made available to central agencies within the first 45 days of forming the government. This, he argued, would enable effective control over infiltration and strengthen border security.
Responding to the election results in West Bengal, Sharma noted that the public has given a strong mandate for change, resulting in a significant victory for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He asserted that the citizens have long been troubled by issues of infiltration and law and order.
He assured that the new government would work in accordance with the public’s expectations, prioritizing the promises made during the election campaign. According to him, the rule of law will be established in West Bengal in the near future.
The Deputy Chief Minister also remarked that the boundaries between the government machinery and political offices had become blurred in the past. However, he assured that the system would now be made transparent and robust. He claimed that governance in the future would operate based on law, free from the influence of any individual or organization.
