Navratri Festivities Commence at Jeenmata Temple in Rajasthan

Sikar, October 11 (Daily Kiran) : The vibrant celebrations of Sharadiya Navratri have begun at the renowned Jeenmata Temple in Sikar, Rajasthan. On the first day, the idol of Goddess Jeen Bhawani was adorned as Shailputri, featuring a special outfit sourced from Jaipur and a striking red zari base from Kolkata.

Priest Bhawani Shankar detailed that the festivities commenced at 4 AM with the Mangala Aarti. Following this, 21 priests conducted a ritualistic chant while establishing the kalash, and the goddess was bathed in Panchamrit. Alongside the Navratri celebrations, the Lakkhi Mela has also started, attracting millions of devotees seeking blessings from their family deity.

Bhawani Shankar noted, “The worship on the first day of Navratri is underway. Devotees have been arriving since early morning for darshan. The goddess was dressed at 8 AM in a special attire brought from Jaipur, complemented by a vibrant red zari base from Kolkata. After her ceremonial bathing, the kalash was established with the chanting of mantras by the priests.”

The temple is witnessing an influx of devotees, all coming to seek blessings from the goddess in her form as Shailputri. After the Mahaarati, offerings of fruits were made to the goddess, later distributed among the devotees.

Local MLA Subhash Meal expressed his gratitude after visiting the temple, stating, “We came to seek blessings from the goddess as the Navratri festivities begin. We prayed for happiness and health for everyone in the region.”

A devotee from Indore shared her family’s long-standing connection to the temple, saying, “This is our family deity. We have been coming here for 50 years, and every generation has made this pilgrimage.”

The ancient Jeenmata Temple, known as a significant Shakti Peeth, is nestled among three hills in the Aravalli range near Jeenmataji village. The temple’s reputation continues to grow, fueled by the strength, devotion, and miracles attributed to Goddess Jeen Bhawani.

Every year, millions of devotees from across the country and beyond visit Jeenmata, bowing in reverence and seeking to fulfill their wishes. It is believed that merely visiting the temple can cure ailments like leprosy.

Devotees often express their gratitude by carrying burning coals on their heads or walking with the flag of Goddess Jeen Bhawani to the temple. The Jeenmata Temple is also celebrated for the enduring bond between siblings Jeen and Harsh.

During Navratri, the idol is adorned with special attire and vibrant flowers sourced from places like Kolkata and Kannauj, drawing millions of devotees to the Shakti Peeth for blessings.
