New Delhi, August 24: Saurabh Bhardwaj, the Delhi state president of the Aam Aadmi Party, has raised serious questions regarding the SS Mota Singh School Trust file, targeting the Delhi BJP government. He alleged that despite a directive from the Delhi High Court, the government and relevant officials have failed to produce the trust’s file. Bhardwaj questioned what could be in the file that the government is reluctant to disclose.
According to Bhardwaj, the SS Mota Singh School Trust possesses valuable land worth approximately ₹500 crore. He suggested that the names of individuals attempting to seize this property might be recorded in the trust’s file. He further questioned whether political interference in the management of a minority Sikh institution should be permitted. The High Court’s order regarding this matter was issued on July 8, 2026.
He stated that the court instructed the Delhi government’s revenue department, divisional commissioner, and district magistrate to provide the file related to the SS Mota Singh School Trust. If the file was unavailable, they were directed to locate it or reconstruct it through necessary procedures and present it to the court. A deadline of about one month was set, but as of August 8, no clear response from the government has emerged.
Bhardwaj noted that initial inquiries at the district magistrate’s office yielded no results regarding the file. Consequently, the matter escalated to the High Court. He claimed that the government’s silence on the file raises numerous questions. He insisted that if the file is indeed missing, an investigation should be conducted, and responsible parties should face consequences. Bhardwaj directly questioned Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, asking why the government hesitates to release the file.
He inquired whether the file contains names of individuals allegedly being appointed as trustees in the school trust, which manages the ₹500 crore property. Bhardwaj claimed to have seen a Facebook post where a person named Amarjeet Singh Babbu thanked Delhi government minister Pravesh Verma for allegedly making him a trustee within the SS Mota Singh School. When he questioned Verma about this, the minister reportedly filed a defamation lawsuit against him.
Bhardwaj emphasized that while the legal case will proceed, the government must address the questions surrounding the SS Mota Singh School Trust file. He stated that this issue transcends a single institution’s file; it concerns the transparency of property management and the alleged appointment of new trustees.
He accused the government of taking the High Court’s directive lightly by not providing the file, calling it a serious matter. Bhardwaj affirmed that the Aam Aadmi Party will continue to raise this issue and will soon disclose additional facts related to it. He urged the BJP government to comply with the High Court’s order and present the complete trust file, holding accountable anyone responsible for the missing records.
