7th Arjan Singh Memorial Hockey Tournament Set to Kick Off in Bengaluru

Bengaluru, June 22: The 7th edition of the Arjan Singh Memorial Hockey Tournament will take place from June 23 to July 3, 2026, at the Air Force Station in Jalahalli, Bengaluru. Organized by the Air Force Sports Control Board (AFSCB) since 2018, this tournament promises exciting matches.

A total of 16 teams will compete in a league-cum-knockout format at the hockey stadium in Jalahalli. The winning team will receive a prize of ₹10,00,000, while the runners-up will take home ₹8,00,000. Each match will feature a ‘Man of the Match’ award worth ₹25,000, and the ‘Player of the Tournament’ will be awarded ₹50,000.

This tournament is named after the legendary Marshal of the Air Force, Arjan Singh. His passion for hockey was unparalleled. As a former officer of the Indian Air Force, he inspired air warriors to lead courageously, both on the battlefield and in sports.

The Indian Air Force continues to nurture athletes who have proudly represented the nation in various international competitions, enhancing the reputation of both India and the Indian Air Force.

The opening ceremony on June 23 will be graced by Air Marshal S. Shivkumar, VSM, who will serve as the chief guest. The closing ceremony on July 3 will be presided over by Air Marshal C. Srinivasan, PVSM, AVSM, VSM, the Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Training Command.

The previous edition of the Arjan Singh Memorial Hockey Tournament was held from April 29 to May 6, 2025, at the Raghuveer Singh Bhola Hockey Stadium in Chandigarh, featuring 12 teams, including hockey teams from two other countries. The final match was contested between Indian Railways and the Rail Coach Factory, Kapurthala, with Indian Railways winning 2-0 (3-1 in the tie-breaker).
