Jaipur – A major recruitment fraud has come to light in Rajasthan, where 72 individuals secured government teaching jobs using fake documents. The Special Operations Group (SOG) has registered cases of fraud and criminal conspiracy against these teachers. Investigations have revealed irregularities such as the use of dummy candidates and discrepancies in photographs, signatures, and REET certificates.

Last year, the state government directed all departments to verify the educational qualifications, application forms, photographs, and signatures of employees appointed between 2019 and 2024. Following this directive, the Directorate of Elementary Education, Bikaner, formed four-member inquiry committees at the divisional level.
Based on reports from Bikaner, Churu, Jaipur, Ajmer, Jodhpur, Udaipur, Kota, Bharatpur, and Pali divisions, the committees found serious irregularities in the recruitment of 72 teachers.
The probe revealed that in many cases, candidates appearing for Teacher Recruitment Examinations (Level 1 and 2) in 2018 and 2022 had submitted forged documents. Some had even arranged for dummy candidates to take the exams on their behalf. There were mismatches between photographs, signatures, and REET certificates.
For instance, the photographs and signatures of teachers Deshraj (Pali), Himanshu Mittal (Jalore), and Jitendra Singh (Jalore) did not match their application forms. In several cases, degrees and REET certificates were found to be entirely suspicious.
Jalore district recorded the highest number of suspected teachers, including Lokesh Kumar Sau (Dudha Ki Beri), Rekha Meena (Jeetpura), Ruchika Sharma (Pawli), and Prakash Bhadu (Koliyan Ki Beri). Some of these individuals were selected in recruitments held in 2016 and 2021 and are currently working in various schools.
The SOG has launched a detailed investigation, and officials believe that more names could emerge as the probe progresses.
