Dalian, June 17: The 17th Summer Davos Forum will take place from June 23 to 25 in Dalian, a coastal city in northeastern China’s Liaoning province. Over 1,700 guests from more than 90 countries and regions are expected to attend. A press conference revealed that preparations for the forum are nearly complete.
The theme for this year’s forum is “Expanding Innovation.” Discussions will focus on topics such as understanding the next phase of China’s economic development and utilizing technology to generate real economic benefits.
Kao Weiqi, Deputy Director of the International Cooperation Department of the National Development and Reform Commission, stated that the forum will feature significant events centered on cutting-edge fields like artificial intelligence, new energy, biomedicine, and quantum technology. The aim is to present a new vision for global scientific and technological innovation cooperation. Additionally, several activities will be organized to explain the framework of China’s “15th Five-Year Plan.”
He expressed hope that the forum will showcase China’s remarkable achievements in high-quality economic development, demonstrate the country’s commitment to openness and collaboration, and share extensive opportunities for modernization in the Chinese style.
According to Dalian Mayor Li Qiang, the city will focus on building a modern maritime city by integrating its urban status and industrial characteristics. The forum will initiate a series of activities centered on issues related to the energy and chemical industries, deeply connecting with high-level global resources.
He added, “This forum will concentrate on global innovation trends and the direction of industrial transformation, aiming to gather knowledge and empower global economic recovery and development.”
