New Delhi, February 5: The ‘Developed India Young Leaders Dialogue 2026’ has provided a historic platform for the youth of the country, where their suggestions were not only heard but also directly incorporated into the Union Budget 2026. Millions of young people from across the nation participated in this event, with a select few given the opportunity to present their ideas directly to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Among them were Kirti Shukla from Kanpur, Mayank Raj from Ranchi, and Shubhra Chaubey from Vapi, Gujarat, whose suggestions made a significant impact on the budget.
Kirti Shukla from Kanpur described the experience as her greatest achievement. In an interview, she expressed, “I am extremely happy that my suggestions were taken seriously and included in the Union Budget. It felt like a first when the voices of youth were not just heard but also propelled the nation’s progress.”
Kirti thanked Prime Minister Modi for this initiative, emphasizing that it is a strong effort to connect youth with nation-building. She expressed confidence that such platforms will continue to provide opportunities for young people to share their thoughts and innovations. This achievement is a matter of pride for all of Uttar Pradesh.
Mayank Raj from Ranchi presented his agriculture-focused ideas to the Prime Minister. He said, “I felt immense pride when I had the chance to share my thoughts in front of PM Modi. People come to listen to the PM, but he created a platform where he came to listen to us.”
Mayank shared that his topic was agriculture, which is also close to the Prime Minister’s heart. He noted that the PM was excited about the technology-related ideas being brought forth by the youth. “Our ideas found a place in the budget. If young people participate in policy-making, the goal of a developed India can be achieved in the near future. What could be more gratifying than that?” he added.
Shubhra Chaubey from Vapi, Gujarat, shared her thoughts on the theme ‘Youth in Democracy and Governance.’ A second-year BA Economics student at Rajyogeshwar University, Shubhra stated, “Talking directly to the Prime Minister was an unimaginable and proud experience. When the PM of such a large country listens seriously to the thoughts of youth, it instills a sense of confidence and responsibility.”
She noted that her ideas were not only heard but also included in policies and the budget. She felt proud when the Finance Minister referred to it as a youth-driven budget. Shubhra remarked, “India has the largest youth population in the world. Today, the youth are not just participants in discussions; they are partners in nation-building. The budget has addressed aspirations related to women’s empowerment, the orange economy, startups, skills, and self-reliance.”
This event symbolizes Prime Minister Modi’s unwavering faith in the power of youth. All three participants unanimously stated that the inclusion of youth ideas in the budget indicates that the government now regards young people as integral to real policy-making, rather than just symbolic representation.
