Yogi Governments Nandini Krishak Samriddhi Yojana Sparks Dairy Revolution in Uttar Pradesh

Lucknow, March 20: The Yogi government’s ‘Nandini Krishak Samriddhi Yojana’ is emerging as a significant initiative aimed at empowering the dairy sector in Uttar Pradesh. This scheme is designed to increase farmers’ income, promote self-reliance, and strengthen the rural economy. Over the next three years, the state government aims to establish 204 dairy units under this program.

To expedite the implementation, the approval process for bank loans and grant distribution is under continuous monitoring, facilitating rapid expansion of the dairy network.

During this period, Mukesh Meshram, Additional Chief Secretary of the Animal Husbandry Department, reported that for the financial year 2023-24, the target was set for 50 units across 10 divisional headquarters. Currently, only two bank loan approvals (in Meerut and Lucknow) are pending.

Additionally, the distribution of grants is in process for 12 cases in the first tranche (Lucknow, Kanpur Nagar, Gorakhpur, Prayagraj, Ayodhya, and Bareilly) and 35 cases in the second tranche (Agra, Lucknow, Kanpur Nagar, Jhansi, Gorakhpur, Ayodhya, Varanasi, Meerut, and Bareilly). For the financial year 2024-25, the target is set for 40 units in eight divisional headquarters, with 18 bank loan approvals currently progressing in districts like Mirzapur, Basti, Azamgarh, Gonda, Banda, Saharanpur, and Aligarh. Furthermore, 32 beneficiaries will soon receive the first tranche of grants, including those from Aligarh, Banda, Azamgarh, Gonda, Basti, Saharanpur, and Moradabad.

For the financial year 2025-26, the scheme will expand further, targeting 114 units across 57 districts (two units per district). In districts such as Jaunpur, Lalitpur, Jalaun, Sambhal, Deoria, and Rampur, loan approvals have been completed at 100%. The process of disbursing the first tranche of grants to 114 beneficiaries across all 57 districts is also underway.

The state government has issued clear directives to expedite all procedural matters and accelerate grant distribution, ensuring that the benefits of the scheme reach farmers in a timely manner. Through the ‘Nandini Krishak Samriddhi Yojana’, Uttar Pradesh is not only providing a new direction to the dairy sector but also taking substantial steps to enhance farmers’ income and strengthen the rural economy.
