Agartala, March 20: Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha announced on Friday that the state budget for the financial year 2026-27 is designed to ensure inclusive development, benefiting all sections of society.
He stated that the budget, presented by Finance Minister Pranjit Singha Roy in the state assembly on March 16, reflects the government’s commitment to transparency and balanced development.
During discussions on the proposed budget in the recent assembly session, Saha expressed his full support for the budget. He noted, “I have not seen such a well-structured financial budget in a long time. Financial discipline is crucial in budget formulation. Tripura is a small state, and presenting a balanced budget while meeting diverse needs is a challenging task. I thank the Finance Minister for presenting an excellent and visionary budget. This budget aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of building a developed India.”
Saha further emphasized that the state budget is in line with the central budget and reflects a broader goal of self-reliance. He remarked, “The theme of self-reliance is clearly visible in this budget. It has been crafted for the benefit of all sections of society, including women, students, youth, tribal communities, Scheduled Castes, OBCs, minorities, employees, and pensioners. The Finance Minister has considered the needs of every group while preparing this budget.”
The Chief Minister highlighted that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, India’s economy has risen from the 11th to the 4th position globally and is on track to become the third-largest economy by 2030.
