
New Delhi, June 21: During the International Yoga Day celebrations, Ashwini Vaishnaw, the Minister of Railways, Information & Broadcasting, and Electronics & Information Technology, emphasized that yoga is India’s ancient and invaluable heritage, now embraced globally.
The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting reported that on Sunday, Vaishnaw participated in a mass yoga event in Rajasthan alongside Arjun Ram Meghwal, Minister of State for Law and Justice, and Parliamentary Affairs. They promoted the importance of a healthy lifestyle through yoga.
Addressing the attendees, Vaishnaw stated that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, yoga has gained international recognition. It has emerged as a powerful tool for enhancing physical, mental, and emotional well-being.
He noted that regular yoga practice not only improves physical health but also fosters mental peace, positive thinking, and a stress-free lifestyle. The minister urged everyone to incorporate yoga into their daily routines and adopt a healthier lifestyle.
“Yoga is India’s ancient and priceless heritage, now embraced by the entire world. Regular practice keeps individuals healthy, energetic, and mentally strong,” he remarked.
On this occasion, Arjun Ram Meghwal highlighted yoga as an integral part of Indian culture and philosophy. He stressed that a healthy body and mind are essential for building a strong society and a developed nation.
The minister added that yoga teaches discipline, self-control, and balance, urging every citizen to include it in their daily lives.
Additionally, the event at Karni Singh Stadium in Bikaner saw a large turnout of school students, youth, women, representatives from social organizations, and officials from various government departments. According to the ministry, participants practiced various yoga postures, pranayama, and meditation under the guidance of trained instructors.
