Barcelona, February 28: A prototype resembling Xiaomi’s forthcoming performance car has been spotted in Barcelona, just days before the Mobile World Congress 2026 kicks off. The vehicle features a low stance, a wide body, and an aggressive rear wing, indicating that it is not a standard production model. Instead, it appears to be a concept designed with racing in mind.
The car prominently displays “Xiaomi” branding on its wheel covers and boasts a design that emphasizes aerodynamics. Its body is positioned very close to the ground, featuring sharp lines and a large carbon-fiber spoiler at the rear. This overall shape suggests it is optimized to minimize air resistance.
Xiaomi’s Supercar Could Be Named Vision GT
Xiaomi has fueled speculation with a teaser message hinting at an upcoming surprise.
Importantly, Xiaomi has confirmed plans to unveil a Vision Gran Turismo concept in collaboration with Polyphony Digital, the studio behind the popular racing franchise Gran Turismo 7. The Vision Gran Turismo program allows automakers to create concept cars without the usual constraints of road regulations or production limitations. This platform has become a stage for brands to showcase innovative ideas, particularly in performance and electric vehicle technology.
By participating in this project, Xiaomi can reach millions of players and racing enthusiasts globally, showcasing its electric vehicles alongside some of the most renowned performance brands.
Xiaomi’s connection to the Gran Turismo series is not new. Previous announcements confirmed that its SU7 Ultra would feature in the game. Company founder Lei Jun has emphasized the importance of integrating technology, design, and gaming culture as part of Xiaomi’s broader automotive strategy.
While details about the vehicle spotted in Barcelona remain scarce, the combination of public road testing, teaser posts, and gaming partnerships indicates that something significant is in the works. The MWC 2026 will take place from March 2 to March 5, where Xiaomi is expected to unveil the vehicle.
