Mumbai, April 14: Android 17 is currently in its beta phase, and manufacturers like Xiaomi are already advancing their next software iteration on this platform. The upcoming HyperOS 4 is rumored to introduce significant changes, with previous reports indicating a self-developed architecture at its core.
Recent leaks from Weibo tipster Smart Pikachu reveal more details about HyperOS 4. The user interface is reportedly undergoing major revisions, although specifics remain limited. The tipster mentions that the system UI has experienced “significant changes.”
Xiaomi HyperOS with a Leica Color Palette
One of the more intriguing claims is that Xiaomi is developing a dedicated Leica color palette for the operating system. Previously, the partnership between Xiaomi and Leica has primarily been evident in the camera app, particularly in color science and filters. Integrating this aesthetic into the operating system suggests that Xiaomi aims for the software to embody the same “premium” quality as its camera hardware.
Additionally, Xiaomi confirmed in January its goal for “grand convergence” in 2026, which includes a self-developed chip, operating system, and advanced AI models all on a single device.
If these developments come to fruition, HyperOS 4 may focus more on refinement than on introducing flashy new features. A redesigned interface combined with a cohesive visual language could enhance the user experience across Xiaomi, Redmi, and Poco devices.
However, it is important to note that these details are not yet confirmed by Xiaomi. The company is known for its rapid iterations, meaning that features seen in leaks may not appear in the final release as initially presented. As always, it’s wise to approach such information with caution.
