Mumbai, April 7: Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently visited a tea garden in Dibrugarh during his campaign in Assam. He engaged in conversations with a group of female workers from the expansive tea estate. Currently, these tea garden workers are on a ‘Bharat Darshan’ tour, exploring the sacred cities of Uttar Pradesh, including Ayodhya and Kashi. Many women expressed deep emotions after meeting the Prime Minister.
The female workers shared their experiences from the Dibrugarh tea gardens, highlighting why this journey will remain a vivid memory for them.
“We felt very happy. We were taken to the Ayodhya Ram Temple and other places. We had never seen these sites in our lives. The central government gave us this opportunity, and we are very thankful,” said Seema, one of the workers.
Another woman mentioned that all the women are delighted to be on this trip. They praised government initiatives, noting that previously, financial assistance was scarce, but now they are receiving support. “We are getting facilities. During our travel, we were shown many places, and arrangements were made for us to stay in good hotels with excellent food. We want to express our gratitude for this. We are guests of PM Modi, and we have been treated with great respect,” she added.
One woman recalled her interaction with PM Modi, who asked if they had ever traveled. When they replied negatively, he encouraged them to explore. “Now we are on this trip,” she said.
Another worker expressed joy in meeting PM Modi, stating, “We used to see him on TV and posters. When he visited our garden and interacted with us, we were very happy. He asked us about plucking tea leaves, and we demonstrated it to him. He inquired about our facilities, including the Ayushman card and ration card. This is our first time outside Assam, and we are thrilled.”
A different woman shared that PM Modi’s initiative brought them to Varanasi, followed by a visit to Ayodhya to see Lord Ram and a dip in the Saryu River.
