CM Yogi Adityanath highlights womens empowerment as crucial for Uttar Pradeshs development under PM Modis guidance.

Lucknow, October 18 (Daily Kiran) : Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath emphasized the vital role of women in the state’s advancement during a recent address. Speaking on October 18, he noted that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, the double-engine government has made women an active participant in the state’s progress by enhancing opportunities in security, respect, nutrition, education, and economic independence.
On the auspicious occasion of Maha Ashtami during Sharadiya Navratri, Adityanath paid homage to Maa Mahagauri. He shared on the social media platform X, “The worship of Maa Mahagauri, a symbol of peace, purity, and compassion, reminds us that true societal progress is possible only when every mother is healthy and secure, every daughter receives nourishment and a brighter future, and every woman can live with dignity and self-reliance.”
The Chief Minister further stated that since 2017, the government has improved systems related to child nutrition, which previously suffered under mafia control. He highlighted the initiative of entrusting the production and distribution of take-home rations to women in self-help groups, ensuring transparency and paving the way for women’s economic independence. This approach has strengthened nutrition services and made the fight against malnutrition more effective.
Additionally, he announced a significant increase in the honorarium for Anganwadi workers, raising it from ₹3,000 to ₹12,000 per month. This increase, coupled with health insurance benefits, aims to support their health, safety, and social welfare. Adityanath mentioned that over 400,000 women across 31 districts are now engaged in dairy production through companies like Balini, Samarthya, Kashi, Baba Gorakhnath, and Srijani, transforming dairy into a source of income, entrepreneurship, and self-sufficiency, thereby bolstering the rural economy.
He also pointed out that the B.C. Sakhi initiative in every gram panchayat has played a crucial role in empowering women and expanding financial inclusion in rural areas. Currently, more than 12 million women are part of self-help groups, writing new stories of self-reliance. Through the Lakhpati Didi initiative, these women are turning their hard work and skills into regular income, ensuring prosperity for their families.
In his post on X, Adityanath concluded, “By the grace of Maa Mahagauri, women’s lives in the state are now illuminated with security, respect, strength, and prosperity. Empowered women lead to a prosperous Uttar Pradesh.”
