Jaipur, October 15 (Daily Kiran) : A special voter registration campaign launched in Rajasthan on October 1 has gained significant momentum, with 480,893 applications received as of October 14. The initiative aims to include young citizens aged 18 to 19 and other eligible individuals who are not yet on the voter list.

Chief Electoral Officer Naveen Mahajan reported that out of the applications, 267,946 were from the 18-19 age group, while 212,947 came from individuals aged 20 and above. This campaign is being conducted in accordance with the directives of the Election Commission of India to ensure that all eligible citizens are registered as voters.

Mahajan emphasized the collaborative efforts of various teams, including Electoral Literacy Clubs (ELC), Booth Level Officers (BLO), and Electoral Registration Officers (ERO), as well as the Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) program.

As part of the campaign, awareness programs are being organized in schools and colleges to enhance outreach. The goal is to inform eligible youth and potential voters about the registration process and encourage them to register.

The Chief Electoral Officer stressed the importance of ensuring that no eligible citizen is left out of the voter list. Eligible individuals can apply to include their names in the voter list by submitting ‘Form 6’ online through the official Election Commission portal or the ECI Net platform. Applications can also be submitted through the local Booth Level Officers (BLO).
