In a major development for telecom users in the national capital, Vodafone Idea (VI) has officially launched its 5G services in Delhi starting May 15, 2025. With this rollout, VI aims to enhance the digital experience for millions of its subscribers in the Delhi-NCR region, offering faster data speeds and low-latency connectivity for streaming, gaming, and productivity.

Delhi becomes the latest city to benefit from VI’s ongoing 5G expansion, following earlier launches in Mumbai, Chandigarh, and Patna.
VI 5G Officially Live in Delhi After Successful Trials
Vodafone Idea had initially launched its 5G network on a trial basis, offering access to select users. Now, the company has formally rolled out the 5G service for all VI subscribers in Delhi who own a 5G-enabled smartphone.
The service is expected to significantly improve mobile performance, particularly for OTT streaming, cloud gaming, and other data-intensive applications. The launch marks a strategic move to retain and attract users demanding high-speed mobile broadband.
Nationwide Expansion: All 17 Circles to Get 5G by August 2025
VI has outlined an aggressive rollout plan, aiming to cover all 17 telecom circles across India with 5G services by August 2025. Following Delhi, the company is preparing to expand the network in Bengaluru and Mysuru.
According to VI’s internal estimates, 70% of users in Mumbai are already experiencing the benefits of 5G, showcasing the operator’s growing capacity to meet increasing data consumption trends.
