Virat Kohli, known as India’s prolific run machine, holds an extraordinary world record in One Day International (ODI) cricket that no other batsman has come close to matching. On December 6, 2025, Kohli once again scored a half-century, strengthening his unique record that is unlikely to be broken anytime soon.

Kohli has achieved the feat of scoring 50 or more runs in four consecutive ODI innings nine times in his career. This remarkable consistency sets him apart in the cricketing world. In his recent performances, Kohli scored a fifty-plus score in four straight matches, including a century and a half-century against South Africa and a fifty against Australia.

To put this record into perspective, no other ODI player has managed to score 50 or more runs in four consecutive innings more than four times in their career. Former Sri Lankan captain Kumar Sangakkara and New Zealand’s Kane Williamson share the second spot with four such streaks each, with Williamson still active in international cricket.

Kohli’s recent innings included an unbeaten 74 against Australia, followed by 135 and 102 against South Africa, and a match-winning 65 not out in the final game. Notably, at the Visakhapatnam venue, Kohli maintains an average of over 100, a world record for any batsman at a single venue.

This record highlights Virat Kohli’s exceptional skill and consistency in ODI cricket, reinforcing his status as one of the sport’s greatest batsmen.
