New Delhi, July 19: The third and decisive ODI match between India and England is set to take place at Lord’s this Sunday. In this match, Virat Kohli has a golden opportunity to surpass the legendary West Indies batsman Viv Richards in a significant aspect of ODI cricket.
Currently, Kohli is tied for second place with Richards for the most half-centuries against England in ODI cricket, with both having scored 14 fifties. Kohli matched Richards’ record in the second ODI, and now he has the chance to take the lead in the third ODI.
If Kohli manages to score a half-century in this upcoming match, he will also equal the record of former Sri Lankan batsman Kumar Sangakkara, who holds the record for the most half-centuries against England in the 50-over format with 15 fifties.
