Vipul Shah Welcomes Kerala High Courts Approval for The Kerala Story 2

Mumbai, February 28: Film producer Vipul Shah has expressed his thoughts following the Kerala High Court’s approval for the release of his film, “The Kerala Story 2 – Go Beyond.” During a media interaction, he welcomed the court’s decision to lift the interim ban on the film.

Shah revealed that the film underwent scrutiny by a committee of eight experts. He stated, “Now, after the High Court’s order, further discussion is pointless. The honorable judges found no flaws in the functioning of the CBFC (Central Board of Film Certification).” He clarified that typically, a film’s censor screening involves a committee of five members. However, for this film, eight individuals, including two social workers from Kerala, were involved to ensure that no misinformation related to the state was presented.

He also commented on Indian author Anurag Kashyap’s remarks regarding his film. Shah mentioned that he is awaiting Kashyap’s response to a social media user’s comment directed at the director of “Gangs of Wasseypur.” He added, “I do not make personal comments about Anurag. That is his opinion, and my audience had a very interesting topic. We have yet to hear back from Anurag.”

Shah further noted that Kashyap had directed a film titled “That Girl in Yellow Boots,” which explored a romantic relationship between a father and daughter. He questioned, “Should we take seriously the comments from someone who makes a film about a physical relationship between a father and daughter?”

With the stay lifted, theater owners and distributors are now expected to proceed with screenings as planned. Experts believe that the legal battle may have heightened public interest, potentially impacting the film’s box office prospects in the coming days.
