New Delhi, March 15: Vinod Bansal, the national spokesperson for the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP), has criticized Congress leader Mani Shankar Aiyar for his remarks related to Pakistan. Bansal emphasized that both the Congress party and Aiyar need to engage in self-reflection, as he believes the party has completely lost its way.
Bansal stated that leaders like Aiyar travel to Pakistan to criticize India while praising Pakistan when in India. He challenged the integrity of such leaders, pointing out that this behavior has been a longstanding issue within Congress. He noted that Aiyar’s statements often receive applause in Pakistan, and the Pakistani media highlights these comments. Bansal expressed shame that individuals like Aiyar represent India, urging him to reflect on his actions. He asserted that Congress’s political standing has fallen to an all-time low.
Regarding the demand for posthumous recognition of Kanshi Ram with the Bharat Ratna, Bansal remarked that no one cared for him while he was alive. Now, after his passing, he has become a favorite of Mayawati, Rahul, and Priyanka, as well as the Samajwadi Party, who seem to remember him only when elections approach.
On the LPG crisis, Bansal praised the Indian government’s measures, stating they have been effective. He mentioned that two ships are soon expected to arrive in India. Despite ongoing struggles, he noted that relationships with both countries remain strong. He urged the public not to believe in rumors or hoard supplies, assuring them that the situation would soon stabilize.
Commenting on the hijab controversy in Lucknow, Bansal condemned the actions of certain individuals who pressured Hindu girls visiting the Imam Bara to wear hijabs and threatened them with expulsion from the site. He described this as a serious affront by extremist elements against women. He called for a thorough investigation by the Uttar Pradesh police and urged the National Commission for Women to take notice of the incident.
