Vijay Dismisses Alliance Talks with NDA, Affirms TVKs Independent Stance

Chennai, March 19: In a decisive move ahead of the upcoming Tamil Nadu assembly elections, Vijay, the president of the Tamilaga Vetrikazhagam (TVK), has firmly rejected speculation about an alliance with the National Democratic Alliance (NDA). He emphasized that the party will not compromise on its core principles of “secular social justice.”

Addressing an Iftar gathering organized by the party in Mamallapuram, approximately 60 kilometers south of Chennai, Vijay sought to dispel ongoing rumors regarding the political stance of TVK.

He stated, “Since the beginning of my political journey, there have been attempts to link TVK with various political factions.” He added that over time, there have been claims suggesting that the party is aligned with this or that coalition. “I want to make it absolutely clear: we are not part of any such team. We are solely part of the people’s team.”

Vijay further claimed that when these narratives failed to gain traction among the public, new forms of misinformation emerged, including recent claims that TVK is preparing to join a political alliance ahead of the elections.

He labeled these reports as a “false campaign” aimed at misleading the public and undermining the party’s independent identity. “Hearing such news may cause some confusion. This is precisely the intent behind spreading these rumors. I reiterate clearly: we will always uphold our principles of secular social justice without any compromise.”

Reinforcing the party’s independent political ambitions, Vijay stated that TVK is not looking to play a supportive role in any coalition but is focused on building a government based on its own strength.
