
Bengaluru, April 22: At the 10th convocation ceremony held at Karnataka Central University in Kalaburagi, Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan addressed the graduating students. He congratulated them on their achievements and emphasized that they are entering a new phase of life, where their responsibilities towards society and the nation will increase.
In his speech, the Vice President highlighted India’s developmental journey, stating that the country is currently at a significant juncture. He referenced Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a “Developed India,” describing it as a collective national goal. He urged students to innovate, lead with integrity, and actively contribute to the nation’s progress.
The Vice President also stressed the concept of ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ (Self-Reliant India), explaining that self-reliance means effectively utilizing the country’s capabilities, promoting new ideas, and strengthening local industries. He advised the youth to continuously learn new technologies and adapt to the changing times.
On the topic of women’s empowerment, the Vice President noted the increasing participation of women in education. He expressed happiness that over 80 percent of the gold medalists at the university this year are female students, symbolizing the growing strength of “Nari Shakti” (Women Power) and indicating positive changes towards equality and leadership in society.
He acknowledged that while opportunities abound globally, challenges such as climate change, technological shifts, and social inequalities persist. He called on students to face these challenges with courage and creative thinking, asserting that success should be measured not just by personal achievements but by the positive impact on society.
The Vice President encouraged students to remain connected to their cultural roots, stating that while embracing modernity and global perspectives, they should not forget their traditions and values.
During the event, he praised parents, teachers, and university administration for their significant roles in guiding the younger generation. He concluded by inspiring students to dream big, move forward with confidence, and contribute to the nation’s development.
The ceremony was attended by Karnataka Governor Thawarchand Gehlot, Vice Chancellor Prof. Satyanarayana, faculty, staff, parents, and a large number of students.
