
Dehradun, March 20: A swearing-in ceremony for newly appointed cabinet ministers was held on Friday at Lok Bhavan in Dehradun, the capital of Uttarakhand. The event was attended by Governor Gurmeet Singh and Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami.
During the ceremony, the Chief Minister filled the five vacant positions in his cabinet by administering the oath to new ministers. Legislators Khajan Das, Bharat Singh Chaudhary, Madan Kaushik, Ram Singh Keda, and Pradeep Batra took their oaths as cabinet ministers, with Governor Gurmeet Singh officiating the ceremony.
A notable highlight of the event was Bharat Singh Chaudhary taking his oath in Sanskrit, which drew significant attention.
Discussions regarding the cabinet expansion in the state had been ongoing for quite some time. Several rounds of meetings and discussions with central leadership were conducted to finalize the appointments. The expansion on Friday successfully filled all vacant positions.
The Dhami government had five cabinet positions that had been vacant for an extended period. One position became vacant following the demise of Minister Chandan Ramdas, while another was left open due to the resignation of Premchand Agarwal. Additionally, three positions had been unoccupied for some time.
The swearing-in ceremony was attended by several prominent leaders, including Cabinet Minister Saurabh Bahuguna, Bharat Chaudhary, former state BJP president Madan Kaushik, BJP state president Mahendra Bhatt, and legislators Khajan Das, Ram Singh Keda, and Pradeep Batra.
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami congratulated all the new cabinet ministers on the social media platform ‘X’. He extended his best wishes to legislators Khajan Das, Bharat Singh Chaudhary, Madan Kaushik, Ram Singh Keda, and Pradeep Batra.
