Uttar Pradeshs Development Journey Reaches New Heights with Noida Airport Inauguration

Lucknow, March 28: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced that the inauguration of the Noida International Airport in Jewar marks another golden milestone in the development journey of the ‘New Uttar Pradesh’ within ‘New India.’ He extended greetings from the people of the state to Prime Minister Narendra Modi ahead of the airport’s opening.

In a post on the social media platform X, Chief Minister Adityanath stated, “The development journey of the ‘New India’ and ‘New Uttar Pradesh’ is set to touch another golden peak today. The grand inauguration of the first phase of Noida International Airport, Jewar, will take place through the hands of the Prime Minister.”

He further added, “This airport in Jewar is the runway for Uttar Pradesh’s development. Here, the dreams of our youth will take flight, possibilities will materialize, and the future will reach new heights. Special congratulations to our farmer brothers, whose dedication has made this development possible. A heartfelt welcome and salute from 25 crore residents of the state to the Prime Minister.”

It is noteworthy that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Noida International Airport on Saturday, a significant achievement in India’s journey to becoming a global aviation hub. Envisioned as a major international gateway for the National Capital Region (NCR), this airport represents a substantial step towards strengthening the country’s airport infrastructure and enhancing regional and international connectivity.

The Noida International Airport is being developed as the second international airport for the Delhi NCR region, complementing Indira Gandhi International Airport. Together, these airports will function as an integrated aviation system, reducing congestion, increasing passenger capacity, and positioning Delhi NCR as a leading global aviation center.

The Noida International Airport is one of India’s largest greenfield airport projects. The first phase of the airport has been developed under a public-private partnership (PPP) model with a total investment of approximately ₹11,200 crores. The initial phase will have a passenger handling capacity of 12 million passengers per year (MPPA), which will expand to 70 MPPA once fully developed. It features a 3,900-meter-long runway capable of accommodating large aircraft, along with modern navigation systems, including an Instrument Landing System (ILS) and advanced airfield lighting, ensuring efficient operations day and night in all weather conditions.
