Uttar Pradesh International Trade Show Showcases State’s Potential for Global Prosperity
The Uttar Pradesh International Trade Show highlights the states industrial strengths and connects local artisans to global markets.

Greater Noida, September 25 (Daily Kiran) : The fourth Uttar Pradesh International Trade Show (UPITS) commenced on September 25 at the India Expo Mart in Greater Noida. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath emphasized the event’s role in showcasing the industrial, traditional, and technological strengths of Uttar Pradesh on a global stage. He noted that the trade show is a significant initiative to give the state a new identity, connecting its traditions and technologies to the global market.
During the opening, the Chief Minister welcomed representatives from over 90 countries, including foreign buyers and exhibitors. He extended particular thanks to the ambassadors and high commissioners from Japan, Singapore, and Belarus. This year, approximately 600 foreign buyers and around 150,000 business-to-business visitors are expected to participate in the trade show.
Adityanath highlighted that Uttar Pradesh’s true strength lies in its tradition and entrepreneurship. He discussed the promotion of traditional industries through the “One District, One Product” (ODOP) initiative, aimed at branding unique products from various districts. The government is actively working to provide market access for these products and elevate them to a global level. According to the Chief Minister, Uttar Pradesh is rapidly advancing as a manufacturing hub, with exports exceeding ₹2 lakh crore to various countries.
The UPITS has become an important platform to demonstrate this transformation. This year’s event spans approximately 36,000 square meters, featuring over 2,400 exhibitors. The trade show showcases a wide range of products, from traditional goods to modern technology, manufacturing, MSMEs, and innovations.
Through UPITS, small entrepreneurs, artisans, weavers, and MSMEs are gaining direct access to global markets. This initiative aims to reduce the role of intermediaries and provide producers with better market opportunities. Adityanath described the UP International Trade Show as more than just a business event; it is a medium to present Uttar Pradesh’s transformation story to the world, working to convert “possibilities into prosperity.” He noted that the state’s cultural heritage and traditional skills are now transforming into multi-crore businesses.
The Chief Minister remarked that for a long time, artisans and traditional craftsmen lacked a suitable platform. UPITS is now facilitating their access to global markets. He also acknowledged the contributions of Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah, who emphasized recognizing the state’s traditional strengths during the BJP’s campaign in 2017.
Adityanath stated that the ODOP initiative has proven to be a crucial step in recognizing traditional industries and connecting them to modern markets. He highlighted that this vision has resulted in Uttar Pradesh’s rapid progress in manufacturing and exports. The trade show features participation from countries such as Austria, Russia, Belarus, Vietnam, and France, providing opportunities to explore strategic partnerships, technology transfers, and joint ventures.
He noted that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, India has established free trade agreements with several countries. Uttar Pradesh is leveraging these agreements to invite international companies to invest in the state, thereby strengthening global export prospects. The Chief Minister expressed that the world is increasingly trusting Uttar Pradesh’s supply chain, industries, and product reliability. He concluded by stating that those who stay connected to their roots while engaging with the world attract global attention, and the UP International Trade Show symbolizes this change.
