Lucknow, April 20: The Uttar Pradesh government has announced significant relief for farmers. Wheat-producing farmers can now sell their crops at government purchase centers without prior registration. This decision is seen as a major relief for many farmers, as it eliminates the previous requirement to register before selling their produce.
Officials have stated that farmers will no longer need ‘farm registration’ to qualify, allowing them to sell their crops as they did before the new purchasing system was implemented. District magistrates across the state have been instructed to implement these directives immediately and ensure “easy purchasing” for all. This decision comes after numerous reports of inconveniences and difficulties faced by farmers.
The directive is expected to benefit farmers and villages particularly affected by the ‘consolidation’ process. Many of these farmers were unable to obtain their ‘farmer registration’ certificates due to ongoing procedures in their respective gram panchayats.
