
New Delhi, May 21: A significant opportunity has emerged for youth preparing to become civil servants. The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has issued an official notification inviting applications for a total of 394 positions under the National Defence Academy (NDA) and Naval Academy (NA) Examination (Second), 2026. This includes 370 positions for men and 24 for women.
The vacancies announced by UPSC comprise 370 positions for the National Defence Academy (NDA) and 24 for the Indian Naval Academy (INA) under the 10+2 Cadet Entry Scheme. Of the 370 NDA positions, there are 208 in the Army (198 men, 10 women), 42 in the Navy (37 men, 5 women), and 92 in the Air Force (90 men, 2 women). Additionally, there are 18 technical ground positions (16 men, 2 women) and 10 non-technical ground positions (8 men, 2 women). The 24 positions at the Indian Naval Academy (INA) are all for men, with 3 reserved for women.
The online application process commenced on May 20 and will close on June 9. Candidates wishing to apply for the positions announced by UPSC can submit their registration forms on the official portal until 6 PM on the deadline.
Applicants must have completed their 12th grade under the 10+2 system or an equivalent examination conducted by a state education board or university for the Army Wing of the NDA. For the Air Force and Navy Wings of the NDA and the Indian Naval Academy under the 10+2 Cadet Entry Scheme, candidates must have passed 12th grade with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
Candidates should note that only unmarried male and female applicants born between January 1, 2008, and January 1, 2011, are eligible to apply.
Selection of qualified candidates will be based on a written examination (objective type), SSB intelligence and personality tests, medical examination, and document verification. Selected candidates will receive a stipend of ₹56,000 per month during training. The written examination is scheduled for September 13.
While filling out the application form, candidates must pay the prescribed application fee online, which is set at ₹100 for general/OBC/EWS (male) applicants. Women candidates (of all categories), SC/ST candidates, and children of former JCOs/NCOs/ORs studying in military schools/soldier schools (run by the Soldier School Society) are exempt from the registration fee.
