Lucknow, October 9 (Daily Kiran) : In Lucknow, the political landscape of Uttar Pradesh is increasingly charged, especially regarding Ayodhya and religious sentiments. Om Prakash Rajbhar, President of the Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party and a minister in the state government, has taken aim at Akhilesh Yadav, the leader of the Samajwadi Party (SP), questioning his absence from Ayodhya where he has not visited to see Ram Lalla.
During a recent interaction, Rajbhar suggested that instead of making statements about Ayodhya, Yadav should contest elections in Gorakhpur. “Yogi Adityanath will win even in Akhilesh’s own backyard,” he asserted, dismissing Yadav’s aspirations to form a government as mere dreams.
Rajbhar criticized Yadav’s remarks about visiting Ayodhya, stating, “The people of the state know that during the Muzaffarnagar riots, while people were suffering, he was watching dances in Saifai. His party has instigated over a thousand riots in the state.” He emphasized that under Yadav’s leadership, the state was plagued by violence and lawlessness, leaving ordinary citizens, especially women, feeling unsafe.
On Yadav’s comments about the development of Ayodhya, Rajbhar questioned why he had not visited the site himself, implying that Yadav appears conflicted when it comes to his religious duties. “When he visits a Maulana, he happily enjoys naan and roti,” Rajbhar remarked.
Regarding the cabinet meetings, Rajbhar described them as routine, stating they occur every Tuesday but can shift slightly due to scheduling conflicts. He assured that all proposals would be approved, emphasizing the government’s intent to ensure the availability of LPG cylinders ahead of upcoming festivals.
Rajbhar also addressed the issue of reservation for backward classes, accusing Yadav of monopolizing benefits during his five years in power, while highlighting that under Adityanath’s administration, 10 lakh jobs were provided based on merit.
In a pointed message on social media, Rajbhar challenged Yadav, asking, “Akhilesh ji, have you been to Ayodhya? You didn’t go, did you? How could you, with your beard and cap?” He also recalled the tragic events surrounding the firing on karsevaks in Ayodhya, urging Yadav to take responsibility for the past actions of his father, Mulayam Singh Yadav, during his tenure as Chief Minister, and to express remorse for those events.
Tensions continue to rise in Uttar Pradesh as political figures navigate the sensitive intersection of faith and governance.
