Ukraine Claims Heavy Russian Casualties Amid Ongoing Conflict
Ukraines President Zelensky reports significant Russian troop losses, urging for diplomatic talks to end the conflict.

Kyiv, November 1 (Daily Kiran) : Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has reported that the Ukrainian defense forces have inflicted considerable damage on Russian troops while reclaiming occupied territories. He stated that Russia is paying a steep price for President Vladimir Putin’s reckless actions.
In a post on the social media platform X, Zelensky highlighted that in October, Ukrainian forces dealt record losses to the enemy and regained more territory than Russian forces captured during the same period. He noted that approximately 54,400 Russian soldiers were either killed or severely injured in just one month, marking the highest monthly losses of the conflict. A new daily loss record was also set on October 21, when Russian forces lost 2,250 soldiers in a single day.
Zelensky emphasized the ongoing efforts to reclaim Ukrainian land, stating that in October, Ukrainian forces liberated 96.2 square kilometers, surpassing the 10.4 square kilometers occupied by Russian forces during that time. He expressed gratitude to all defenders, both male and female, for their crucial contributions.
He added, “Russia is suffering losses. We are maintaining our current position, liberating territories, and ensuring that every day of this war becomes increasingly costly for the aggressor. To prevent these heavy losses, Russia must choose the path of ceasefire and diplomatic negotiations.”
Foreign Minister Andrii Sibiga echoed Zelensky’s sentiments, noting that daily losses for Russia have reached a new record. He reiterated that Ukrainian forces are diligently working to reclaim their land. Despite the heavy losses, he argued that Russia has not come closer to achieving its objectives, stating, “Russia is not winning this war and will not win it. These 54,400 Russian soldiers have been killed or incapacitated without reason.”
Sibiga affirmed Ukraine’s desire to end the war, expressing readiness to seek a fair and mutual solution to halt the fighting. However, he criticized Moscow for not being prepared for negotiations. He called for strong collective pressure on Russia to bring Putin to the negotiating table and restore peace, warning that the cost of this war will continue to rise for him and his regime.
