UEFA Announces Venues for 2028 and 2029 Champions League Finals in Munich and Barcelona

Nyon, September 15 (Daily Kiran) : UEFA has officially announced the venues for the Champions League Finals in 2028 and 2029. The prestigious matches will take place at Munich’s Allianz Arena and Barcelona’s Camp Nou.

The 2028 final is set to be held in Munich, while the 2029 edition will return to Barcelona. The Allianz Arena has a rich history of hosting major Champions League events, having previously held the finals in 2012 and 2025. This upcoming event will once again welcome Europe’s elite clubs.

For Barcelona, the 2029 final marks a significant return to Camp Nou for the Champions League, as the stadium last hosted the final in 1999. That memorable match saw Manchester United stage a remarkable comeback to defeat Bayern Munich 2-1 and claim the European Cup.

The selection of Camp Nou comes as Barcelona continues its redevelopment efforts for the historic venue. The extensive renovation project began in 2023 and is still ongoing. After being away for nearly two years, the club returned to Camp Nou last November. They anticipate the project will be completed by the end of 2027 or early 2028, ensuring the stadium will be ready well before the 2029 Champions League final.

In addition to the Champions League announcements, UEFA has also confirmed the venues for its other major club competitions. The Women’s Champions League final in 2028 will take place at France’s Parc Olympique Lyonnais, while Cardiff’s National Stadium in Wales will host the final in 2029.

The 2028 Europa League final is scheduled for Bucharest’s National Arena, and Serbia’s National Stadium in Belgrade will host the 2029 edition. The Conference League finals will occur at Juventus Stadium in Turin in 2028 and at Budapest’s Puskás Aréna in 2029.
