Two Pony Handlers Arrested After Viral Fight Video in Jammu and Kashmir

Reasi, March 27: The Reasi police in Jammu and Kashmir have reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining law and order along the Mata Vaishno Devi pilgrimage route.

Recently, a fight broke out between two pony handlers on the Banganga track in Katra, causing panic among the pilgrims. Bystanders recorded the incident, and the video quickly went viral on social media.

Following the video’s circulation, the police acted swiftly. The Katra police took notice of the situation and initiated an investigation. During questioning, both pony handlers were identified and subsequently arrested. The accused were presented before the First Class Executive Magistrate in Katra.

The individuals arrested have been identified as Shaukat Ali from Bhaga village in Reasi and Davinder Singh from Sarote Kote village.

District police stated that they will strictly address any incidents that threaten the safety, dignity, or convenience of pilgrims on the sacred route. The police are fully committed to ensuring a peaceful and secure environment and will not tolerate any involvement in illegal activities.

The police reiterated their zero-tolerance policy towards any form of misconduct and assured continuous vigilance to maintain order on pilgrimage routes.

During the Navratri festival, a significant number of devotees visited Mata Vaishno Devi. A large influx of pilgrims was observed arriving in Katra from across the country.

The atmosphere was filled with enthusiasm as devotees flocked to pay their respects during the Chaitra Navratri. People arrived with faith and devotion, chanting “Jai Mata Di,” creating a vibrant and spiritual environment as they eagerly sought the blessings of the divine.
