Ranchi, August 27: The Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the CID, investigating the paper leak case of the Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC) Combined Graduate Level (CGL) examination, has arrested two suspects.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Somesh Prakash and Rahul. They are reportedly associated with the agency ‘Webel,’ which handles technical and managerial responsibilities related to the examination process. According to SIT sources, digital evidence collected during the investigation indicated a suspicious role for both Somesh Prakash and Rahul.
The investigation revealed that they had access to sensitive tasks related to the examination process. It is alleged that they misused this access to facilitate the leak of the exam paper. The CID’s inquiry is examining the entire network of the paper leak, covering the process from paper preparation to its secure storage, delivery to examination centers, and dissemination among candidates.
As part of this investigation, the roles of employees connected to the technical agency are also being scrutinized. The SIT is now focused on determining how the two suspects acquired confidential examination information and through whom it was disseminated. Interrogations of both suspects have commenced following their arrests.
The questioning aims to uncover when the plan for the paper leak was devised, who was involved, and how many candidates received the leaked paper. Additionally, the investigation is looking into any financial transactions related to the leaked paper.
The SIT is also reviewing digital evidence, identifying individuals who were in contact with the suspects through mobile phones, electronic devices, call details, and digital connections. The agency is trying to ascertain how the leaked paper reached various candidates after its unauthorized distribution.
