Bokaro, April 26: A shocking incident of attempted rape has emerged from the Jarangdih Prem Nagar area in Bokaro district. Police acted swiftly, arresting two suspects within 24 hours of the crime.
The incident occurred around midnight on Friday. The 24-year-old victim, a resident of Jarangdih Prem Nagar, reported that she left her door open due to the heat. While she was asleep inside, her husband was sleeping outside. Taking advantage of this, two young men from the neighborhood entered the house and attempted to assault her.
Upon hearing the victim’s cries, the assailants fled the scene. Following the incident, the victim filed a written complaint at the Bokaro Thermal police station on Saturday.
Recognizing the seriousness of the situation, the station officer directed Sub-Inspector Deepak Kumar Paswan to form a team. On Sunday, police conducted a raid and apprehended both suspects at their homes.
The arrested individuals have been identified as 20-year-old Ashish Handi, also known as Bajrangi Kumar or Sawan Kumar, and 24-year-old Ajay Bhuiyan, also known as Pusu Bhuiyan.
After conducting medical examinations on the suspects, police have sent them to the Tenughat Sub-Jail. Authorities have stated that they are adopting a zero-tolerance policy towards crimes against women.
