NDA Leaders Condemn Prashant Bhushans Call for Regime Change

NDA leaders reacted strongly to Prashant Bhushans statement about regime change, emphasizing constitutional methods for political transition.

Patna, October 16 (Daily Kiran) : Senior lawyer Prashant Bhushan’s recent comments regarding regime change have sparked significant political backlash in Patna. Amid ongoing protests against the Special Investigation Team and Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, Bhushan stated, “If the government believes this is a fight for regime change, then yes, we want to change the regime.” His remarks have been met with fierce criticism from leaders of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), who have labeled his statement an attack on democracy.

BJP national spokesperson Guru Prakash responded sharply, suggesting that the opposition’s true agenda has been revealed under the guise of protests. He stated, “Their intentions are clear. Neha Bora claims to be inspired by the Bangladesh model, while Prashant Bhushan insists change is necessary here.”

Prakash emphasized that the only legitimate way to achieve political change in a democracy is through constitutional means. “There is a democratic and constitutional way to change regimes. Contest elections, nominate candidates, engage with the public on issues, and clarify your policies and leadership. Regime change cannot happen through chaos on the streets. The country operates within the constitutional framework of Parliament and the Constitution, not based on individual whims or fantasies,” he asserted.

Rajiv Ranjan, a spokesperson for the Janata Dal (United), also criticized Bhushan’s remarks, stating that political change cannot be achieved through empty threats or movements. He reinforced the idea that public mandate is what brings individuals to power and removes them from it. “To gain a mandate, winning the public’s trust is essential, something no political party can achieve through disorderly methods. Who better than Prashant Bhushan should understand this?” he questioned.

Ranjan further referenced the Aam Aadmi Party, noting that they made similar claims during their time but ultimately failed to maintain public trust. He remarked, “The AAP has lost the people’s faith in alternative politics through their actions in Delhi and across the country, and people have stopped placing their hopes in them.”
