Mumbai, July 30: The highly anticipated trailer for director Nitesh Tiwari’s mythological epic, ‘Ramayana: Part 1’, was released on Thursday during Brahma Muhurta. The trailer debuted in five Indian languages: Hindi, Kannada, Telugu, Tamil, and Malayalam.
The 4-minute and 9-second trailer is visually stunning. It opens with Yash portraying Ravana as he takes the throne of Lanka. Following this, the trailer unfolds the legendary narrative of the Ramayana, starting with Lord Ram’s presence in Ayodhya.
Key events from the Ramayana are highlighted in the trailer. It showcases significant moments leading up to Lord Ram’s exile, including Queen Kaikeyi’s demand for Ram to leave. Respecting his mother’s wishes, Lord Ram embarks on his exile, leading to the Shurpanakha episode and the ‘Sita Haran’, providing a comprehensive glimpse into this epic’s major events.
The cast of the Ramayana appears formidable. Ranbir Kapoor plays Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi takes on the role of Sita, Yash is seen as Ravana, and Ravi Dubey portrays Lakshman. Lara Dutta plays Kaikeyi, Rakul Preet Singh is featured as Shurpanakha, and Arvind Govil plays King Dasharath.
The trailer suggests that all the actors have done justice to their roles.
Nitesh Tiwari’s film is penned by award-winning writer Shridhar Raghavan, with music composed by Oscar winners Hans Zimmer and A.R. Rahman. This film showcases an unprecedented collaboration of artists from various fields.
The action sequences are managed by Terry Notary and Guy Norris, while production design is overseen by Ramsay Avery and Ravi Bansal. Additionally, thousands of artists, designers, and technical experts from around the world are part of this project.
