Tragic Road Accident Claims Life of Four-Year-Old in Bengaluru

Bengaluru, March 22: A heartbreaking road accident occurred in Bengaluru, Karnataka, on Saturday, resulting in the death of a four-year-old girl. The child was struck by a speeding vehicle, leading to her death at the scene. Fortunately, her mother and younger sibling escaped unharmed.

The incident took place near the Hanumantegowdanapalya area, close to the town of Nelamangala. The deceased girl has been identified as Nishika, the eldest daughter of Rajendra and Lavanya.

According to police reports, Lavanya was heading to the Anjaneya Swamy Temple in Gollahalli to celebrate the Ugadi festival with her two children. She was carrying the younger child in her arms while holding Nishika’s hand.

During their walk, a fast-moving vehicle recklessly collided with Nishika on the narrow road. While Lavanya and the younger child managed to avoid the vehicle, Nishika was tragically caught in its path and died instantly.

Following the incident, enraged locals gathered at the scene. They broke the vehicle’s windows and assaulted the driver, who was subsequently handed over to the police.

A case has been registered at the Madanayakanahalli police station. Authorities have detained the driver and the vehicle, initiating further investigations.

It is noteworthy that road accidents have been on the rise in Bengaluru recently. On February 11, a school bus collided with a scooter, resulting in the deaths of two children. Additionally, on February 16, a speeding car in the K.R. Puram area caused the death of a two-year-old child.
