
Gandhinagar, March 24: The Gujarat unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) urged its members on Monday to intensify grassroots outreach ahead of the upcoming local body elections. The call was made during a meeting at the party’s state headquarters, chaired by state president Jagdish Vishwakarma. Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghvi, and General Secretary (Organization) Ratnakarji were also present.
Addressing party workers, Vishwakarma emphasized the importance of grassroots organization. He stated that activities at the booth level are the secret to the BJP’s unstoppable strength. He encouraged workers to connect with all sections of society, promoting the party’s initiatives through outreach, dialogue, and coordination.
Vishwakarma asserted that the BJP has never deviated from its ideological commitment, describing the organization as rooted in public service and humanitarian principles. On the occasion of Martyrs’ Day, he paid tribute to Bhagat Singh, Rajguru, and Sukhdev, and congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi for setting a new record of continuous leadership in Indian democracy, lasting 8,931 days.
Discussing policy decisions, he highlighted the abrogation of Article 370 and the construction of a grand Ram temple in Ayodhya, stating that the party is now moving towards a uniform civil code. The Prime Minister has established a politics of development by eliminating casteism, dynastic politics, and corruption.
Vishwakarma also shed light on welfare schemes and economic initiatives, noting that programs like Ayushman Bharat, the Ujjwala scheme, and the Prime Minister’s Kisan Samman Nidhi have improved the quality of life for many. He mentioned that India is emerging as a global hub in various sectors, including agriculture and the digital economy.
He credited the continuous progress of Gujarat to initiatives such as a ₹10,000 crore relief package for farmers, the Kisan Surya Uday scheme, and advancements in higher education and infrastructure.
Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel remarked that despite global uncertainties, the nation is making strides forward.
