
Lucknow, May 13: Pratik Yadav, the son of Samajwadi Party founder Mulayam Singh Yadav and husband of BJP leader Aparna Yadav, passed away on Wednesday morning. He breathed his last at the Civil Hospital in Lucknow.
The 38-year-old was brought to the hospital by his family for treatment. Unfortunately, he succumbed during his stay there. His body has since been sent for a post-mortem examination, and an ambulance was seen transporting his remains.
The cause of his death has not yet been disclosed, and the family has not provided any formal confirmation regarding the circumstances.
Central Minister and Uttar Pradesh BJP President Pankaj Singh expressed his condolences on social media platform X, stating, “The news of Pratik Yadav’s passing, son of Mulayam Singh Yadav and husband of Uttar Pradesh Women’s Commission Vice Chairperson Aparna Yadav, is extremely sad. My heartfelt sympathies are with the grieving family during this difficult time. May God grant the departed soul a place at His feet and provide the family with strength to endure this immense sorrow.”
Pratik Yadav was the son of Mulayam Singh Yadav and his second wife, Sadhana Gupta, making him the stepbrother of Akhilesh Yadav. He was involved in the business and fitness sectors and held an MBA degree from Leeds University in London. Generally, he stayed away from active politics, having never contested an election or held a significant position within the Samajwadi Party.
His wife, Aparna Yadav, is a BJP leader and currently serves as the Vice Chairperson of the Uttar Pradesh Women’s Commission. She joined the BJP in 2022. Pratik and Aparna were married in 2011, although there had been reports of tension in their relationship recently.
